As one of the most comprehensive cancer programs in the state, the Florida Hospital DeLand Cancer Institute (FHDCI) provides a full range of cancer services, including the latest in detection, prevention, treatment and research. With our 2,000 sq. ft expansion and the addition of new innovations, we continue to provide the most current therapies and technologies used to deliver an exceptional level of quality care.

Included in these advancements is the latest Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT), which can track a tumor’s motion in real time. This enables therapists to accurately position patients and deliver the radiation dose directly to a targeted area with sub-millimeter accuracy for better outcomes, fewer side effects and less damage to healthy surrounding tissue. Because Florida Hospital DeLand’s physicians can target the tumor more precisely, dosage levels can be increased, allowing tumors to receive a higher dose of radiation while the healthy, surrounding tissues get very little.


Along with IGRT, Florida Hospital DeLand’s Cancer Institute will offer patients Positron Emission Tomography and Computed Tomography (PET/CT), delivering more complete information for our medical professionals. The PET exam pinpoints cell activity, and the CT exam provides the exact anatomic location within the body.



This new equipment allows much more accurate and precise cancer treatment, as well as the ability to treat smaller tumor sites and more remote tumor site locations.
